The Quarrymen has now formed into a band called the Silver Beatles as the lineup consistened of:
John Lennon (rhythm guitarist)
Paul McCartney (rhythm guitarist)
George Harrison (Paul's schoolfriend and lead guitarist)
Stu Sutcliffe (John's friend from Art College and Bassist)
Pete Best (Drums/Percussion)
The Silver Beatles have homed their skills during their times playing in Hamburg. From playing at venues like The Kaiserkeller and the Top Ten Club, the now called 'Beatles' head back to Liverpool as a four piece and meet Brian Epstein in November.
They sign a contract and is now their manager willing to get them off the ground!
The Beatles suffered a great lost, their bassist Sutcliffe had died due to a brain haemorrage. As the year progressed on, they used their honed skills from Hamburg and played in the Cavern down in Mathew Street.
The Beatles drop their current drummer, Pete Best and is soon to be replaced by Rory Storm and the Hurricances drummer, Ringo Starr, a friend of the Beatles and would make his appearence! The famous four piece puzzle is complete!
The Beatles recorded their first single 'Love Me Do' in October 1962 and got to Number 17 on the singles chart that Christmas! Now, the band have been at hard work making two smash hit albums for 1963, Please Please Me (released 22nd March 1963) and With The Beatles (22nd November 1963); the latter in particular breaking British LP records being the most sold British-made LP since 1958.
This sudden spark in stardom has led our cheeky chaps to have such a following amongst young fans bringing Youth Culture into the mainframe thus a national phenomeon dubbed Beatlemania!
The Beatles have become national superstars! With them diving into the world of film in Richard Lester's "A Hard Day's Night", their next trip is now around the world, starting with the USA.
Their performance on the Ed Sullivan Show pulled in an audience of 73 million people around the country! This started the infamous movement in British music known as the British Invasion.
The Beatles are at the top of their game! Along with now being all awarded MBEs, they decided to make a 2nd film named after their 1st album of the year; Help! It was a success! It launched the pre-stoner comedies and left the nation in hysterics. However, one small trip to a dentist left John, his wife Cynthia, George and Pattie Boyd spiked with LSD thus leading to their biggest jump in sound and lyricism yet!
Rubber Soul released at the end of the year brought in East Indian influences from George including sitar instrumentation to more philosophically woven songs such as "Norwegian Wood" and "Nowhere Man"
"We're more popular than Jesus now. I don't know what will come first; rock 'n' roll or Christianity!"
That's what John Lennon said that sparked controversy for the band in early '66, at that time also, George slowly started getting weary of touring since the band simply couldn't hear one another. The others concurred and announced their final tour becoming strictly a studio band.
The Beatles have finally grown out moustaches! Oh they also released two groundbreaking albums that same year...
Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was a success and influenced many artists to come such as Roger Waters of Pink Floyd. However, their luck was on a decline from here on out. That same year they lost their manager Brian Epstein who took his own life at the age of 32. This is considered to be one of the leading factors that lead to the Beatles breaking up.

The White Album was a clean cut for the band. After recording the Esher Demos at George Harrison's bungalow in Esher, Surrey, the band were slowly drifting away as this album lead to certain periods where specific members would come in and record. It even lead to Ringo storming out one day when recording "Back in the USSR" leaving Paul to record the drums on that song and John's Donovan-styled picked track; Dear Prudence.
January 1969 started with a set of failed sessions and what would to be the Beatles final ever live performance!
These are what would be called the Get Back sessions with Glyn Johns at the wheel of producing instead of their usual George Martin! This year also lead to the Beatles recording their final album: Abbey Road with one of the most iconic album covers in music history!
Paul McCartney announced the Beatles breakup!
The band became furious and wouldn't have signed their breakup papers until December 1974. That same year, them failed 'Get Back' sessions would be completed by Phil Spector and released in May 1970.
